Open to the Public:  NRA Basic Pistol Course (Range)

Second of 2 Sessions

This course welcomes both experienced shooters and aspiring shooters with little or no experience.  Classes are small to enable you to gain hands on experience with a variety of firearms, and to have your questions answered.  We utilize NRA materials, PowerPoint material and videos to teach the NRA’s rules of safe firearm handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules and maintenance.  This course employs an interactive format; it is not simply a lecture. 

For those interested in applying for your Maryland HQL, additional material is provided, and additional classroom time will be provided. 

This course requires live fire practice and qualification.  The Instructor will provide firearms and ammunition for this phase.  If you own a firearm you may bring it to class and use it for qualification, after it has been inspected by the instructor.  This phase of the class will take place on the BRGC range.  Live fire sessions will be conducted on a group basis, or on an individual basis as needed, scheduled with the Instructor.  You will need eye protection and ear protection.

The fee for this course is a reduced fee of $95.00 for BRGC members, and includes the cost of materials.  The standard range use fee of $20.00 is waived for BRGC members.  For students seeking a MD HQL Certificate there is an additional fee of $25.00.
