On sunday 31 March 2019 beginning at 8:00am a Basic Firearm Safety class will be conducted for anyone that would like to attend. This class is open to anyone not legally disqualified from owning or being in contact with firearms and/or ammunition. Class curriculum will include a brief firearm history from the discovery of gunpowder to the modern firearm, firearm types, firearm action types, cartridge structure, Maryland law relative to firearms and personal defense, the 8 rules of firearm safety, manipulation and function of select firearms, and on range live-fire of select firearms. This class will also include a HQL Certificate of Completion for any who wish to apply for their HQL in Maryland. Also included will be specific discussions on cleaning and maintenance, home safety, storage safety, transportation safety, and range safety.
The cost of this class is $125.00 payable by cash, check, or money order. Pre registration is required for planning purposes and should be completed not later than Thursday 28 March 2019. Active BRGC members, and family members of active BRGC members, who attend and participate will receive a discount of the range fee from the cost of the class.
