On sunday 14 October 2018 a class in Basic Firearm Safety will be conducted in the BRGC clubhouse and on the BRGC 50ft range. This class is designed for those that have never touched a firearm, or have very limited knowledge of firearms in general, and wish to learn the correct way to approach firearm ownership with the best knowledge of safety.
Topics addressed in this class will include everything from the discovery of gunpowder to current firearms in general use, and of course all the rules of firearm safety and why they need to be strictly adhered to. Maryland law will also be discussed as well as proper secure storage, proper transportation, and range protocol. Also discussed will be cartridge structure and function, and various firearm configurations and their specific purposes and uses.
Students will be provided with everything necessary to participate in the class including printed material handouts, pens, note paper, chamber flags, hearing protection, eye protection, chamber safety flags, use of various firearms, ammunition, targets, and certificates of completion.
Students under 21 must be accompanied by parent(s). This training class is open to anyone not legally disqualified from firearm and/or ammunition ownership or access. The cost of this training class is $125.00 per person.
