This is a “fun” opportunity to experience competitive high-power rifle shooting such as that conducted at the National Matches annually at Camp Perry, Ohio.
The NMC is fired in 4 Stages: Standing Slow- Fire, Sitting Rapid-Fire, Prone Rapid-Fire, and Prone Slow-Fire; 2 sighters and 10 shots for score at each stage.
Participants will require a center-fire rifle capable of firing 10 rounds rapid-fire with one magazine change and 48 rounds of ammo. Typically, this course is fired with the M-1Garand, M-14/M1-A, or AR Service or Match Rifles, or Bolt Action Match Rifle, all with Iron Sights. Current NRA Rules allow a 4X scope/optics on the AR.
A spotting scope, sling, shooting glove and coat are helpful; but, not required, accessories.
Arriving at 1130 – 1200 will help in accomplishing range setup and squadding in time to begin shooting at 1230. Depending on the number of participants, additional relays could result in a late finishing time.
