The BRGC Junior's program.

What: Berwyn Rod and Gun Club Juniors Program
When: Every Saturday 10am-12pm
Where: BRGC 100 yard range
Who: Youths under the age of 21
Why: To teach safe handling of firearms and marksmanship skills

About the Program
Our program is available to all youth who are old enough to pay attention, up to 21 years old. (Until December 31st of the year they turn 21.)

This program is designed to teach juniors safe handling of firearms and the skills required to participate in marksmanship matches.

This program is:
* Free
* No membership required
* Open to the public
* Taught by NRA qualified firearms instructors and coaches

The club furnishes all rifles, ammunition, and safety equipment to the participants.

Every third Saturday of the month, we will engage in Archery in lieu of firearms. Please see juniors archery calendar item for additional information.

Tuesday Morning Trap Shoot (15 Sep 2026)

Trap shooting every Tuesday morning on Range 9 at the Prince Georges Trap and Skeet Center, 10400 Good Luck road, Glenn Dale, MD. Shooters show up starting at about 10:30 am and the first squad goes off when enough shooters have arrived or at 11 am. Shooting continues until everyone present has finished shooting.

Shotguns must have a barrel length of at least 23 inches. Ammunition is limited to lead shot of size 7 1/2 or smaller with a maximum velocity of 1200 feet per second. The range office sells ammunition and range tickets that pay for the use of the range. The club shotgun chairperson may also have discounted range tickets available for purchase at the shoots.

Defensive Shotgun Familiarization Shooting/Shotgun Range (07 Oct 2026)

"Familiarization fire"

From 4:30pm - 6:00pm live fire for familiarization/handling on the patterning range (birdshot only). Students need to bring their own ammunition; I recommend at least 5 shells, but a box of 25 is better. Ammo needs to be new in box, factory loaded, BIRD-SHOT, and appropriate for their shotgun. I will bring a 12-gauge defensive shotgun for participants to shoot if they do not bring a shotgun.
