The ClassIII program at Berwyn Rod and Gun Club will host a SILENCER SHOOT on sunday 22 June 2014 from 1200-1600 on the club 50 foot and 50 yard ranges. ClassIII Certified club members will have available on display various calibers of silenced/suppressed pistols, rifles, and subguns and some will be available for attendees to shoot and enjoy. This event is open to ALL club members and guests and the general public. Regular club members are encouraged to attend this event and to bring the family and/or non-member guests, however non members will not be permitted to shoot firearms in FULL-AUTO mode, but only in semi-auto mode.
ClassIII/NFA firearms include submachine guns, machine guns, short barrelled rifles, short barrelled shotguns, silencers, suppressors, destructive devices, and several other categories of firearms and related devices. A silencer is often a persons' first foray into the ClassIII/NFA world primarily because of the cost and the apprehension of owning a federally restricted item. This event will be a very good starting point for anyone having any degree of interest in ClassIII/NFA items and the legalities associated with them. Any questions regarding ClassIII items or the acquisition proceedures for them will be gladly answered by ClassIII Certified club members attending this event and/or the dealers attending this event.
Attendees are encouraged to bring factory loaded, new, brass cased, American made ammunition in .22lr, 9mm, .40S&W, .45acp, 5.56x45/.223, 7.62x51/.308 and have fun and learn about ClassIII. Attendees should also bring their own eye protection gear and hearing protection gear, although hearing protection is optional for MOST silenced/ suppressed firearms.
