Community InvolvementHunter Safety EducationEach fall BRGC hosts Maryland Department of Natural Resources Hunter Safety Education classes. These classes are taught by some of the most experienced instructors in Maryland. Our Maryland Hunter Safety program is nicely complemented by BRGC’s Hunter Safety Trail (a rambling half mile walk though the clubs eleven plus acre grounds). All students who pass this class are issued a Maryland Hunter Safety Certificate. Firearms Safety InstructionFormal instruction is available from NRA Certified Instructors. There are classes suitable for beginners which help to build knowledge, skill, and attitude for the safe and responsible use of firearms. There are also classes available in more advanced subjects such as concealed carry, home defense, and range safety. Please contact our Safety Director for more information: Bruce Jenkins Junior InstructionBRGC has an active Junior Marksmanship Program that is open to interested youth in the area. Contact the Juniors Training Officer for more information: Ray Bosse Community HostThe club opens its facilities to Scouts, ROTC, law enforcement and other groups in the area who need use of a range for firearm and archery instruction. The Bowie City Police Department uses our range facilities for qualifying their officers. The Club holds an annual Food Drive for the Bowie Food Pantry in conjunction with its Disabled American Veterans Post host.
